Crashes on iOS 3

I have an old 1st generation iPod touch that I use as a desktop clock. It runs iOS 3.1.3, and cant be upgraded to a newer iOS. I picked up Quick Alarm because the app description says it works with iOS 3 and iPod touch. I was disappointed to find that despite this promising description, it crashes on launch on my iPod touch. I emailed the developer, noting that the app is described as wiring with iOS 3, who responded with the unhelpful suggestion to "try to update your iOS to latest version," which of course I cant. he also said that "this is bug, we can not resolve it now," so it looks like Quick Alarm doesnt work with iOS 3 after all.
